After raising more than PhP 3 million, actress Bela Padilla proved that she's keeping her promise to bring aid to street vendors affected by the Metro Manila quarantine.

On Twitter today [March 19], Bella shared photos of packaged goods that will be distributed to nearby street vendors in Metro Manila.

“Almost done packing! Heading out in a bit!” she wrote on Twitter.

On Instagram Story, Bela shared snippets of her food distribution project in partnership with the Philippine Army and was sent out to different charities like Caritas Manila.

Yesterday [March 18], Bela raised more Php 3.3 million, a whopping PhP 2 million higher than her original target for Php 1M.

On Twitter, the actress shared her idea and set up a GoGetFunding page to extend aid to street vendors who cannot provide food for their family during the 30-day quarantine.

She wrote, “The best solution I came up with is for us to donate.

“I set up an account, and whatever money we do raise, let's split 16-ways for the 16 cities of Metro Manila affected by this community quarantine.

Bela added that she will personally see to it that the money raised will go to “the right people.”

In the GoGetFunding page, titled “Pagkain Para Sa Pinoy,” Padilla wrote “During this inevitable pandemic there will be a lot of Filipinos who won't be able to rely on their normal sources of income.

“Our favorite taho, dirty ice cream, and banana cue vendors won't be able to secure enough money to guarantee food for their families at the end of the day for one month until our community quarantine is over.”
