By Cara Emmeline Garcia

Amid the mandated enhanced community quarantine in Luzon, Comedy Queen Aiai delas Alas braved the COVID-19 pandemic to attend the Ordinance of Foot-Washing in her local parish.

As evidenced by her Instagram post, dated yesterday, April 9, the comedienne is seen feeling teary-eyed while her feet are being washed by the presiding priest.

She wrote in the caption, “This service is alternatively called the Ordinance of Foot-Washing or the Ordinance of Humility.

“Its primary purpose is to renew the cleansing that only comes from Christ, but secondarily to seek and celebrate reconciliation with another member before Communion/the Lord's Supper.

“I attended this a while ago… [it was] a very touching experience--and first-time ko maka-attend ng washing of the feet

“Thank you father BFF for this experience… Oh, how the Lord shows us His everlasting love and teaches us to be humble.”

As a devout Catholic, Aiai has been vocal about her beliefs on all her social media sites and had been actively donating time and money to various charity works.

In 2016, she was awarded the Papal Medal by Pope Francis--the highest award given by the Pope to laypeople.
