“Not the birthday I planned but I am happy to have spent it at home with my family,”

This is how Kapuso actress and host Winwyn Marquez started her post as she reflected on life after turning 28 last Monday, May 4.

In the said Instagram post, dated May 5, Winwyn shared how celebrating her natal day amid the coronavirus pandemic and enhanced community quarantine has given her a new perspective in life as she adjusts to the new “normal.”

“This is not the birthday I planned but I am happy to have spent it at home with my family and got connected with some family members and friends throughout the day through different platforms.

"I am so thankful for a God who is steadfast and for the opportunities He has set before me.”

She quoted, “'Crisis does not build character, it reveals it.' - I read somewhere that during this time we should invest in God's presence and our health, to also try to learn something new and help build a healthy community… that's what I did.

“I will be flexible and adaptive with the new normal and I will do my best to help those around me feel safe and stay balanced.

“When I blew my candle, all I wanted is for everyone to stay healthy and safe, and that this pandemic will end. Let us not allow fear and anxiety to rule over us.”

To conclude her post, she thanked everyone --- both friends and fans --- who wished her well during her “ECQ birthday.”

On her birthday, Winwyn shared an illustration showing her “birthday vibe” which she describes as “not aging, just upgrading.”

The illustration displays a silhouette of a beauty queen who is lifting weights that says “coffee and bread please.”

In her hand, there's a purple stain mark, which could very well symbolize her penchant for the Korean boy group BTS, whose signature color is purple.

In the comments section, several Kapuso artists greeted the birthday girl including Rodjun Cruz, Pancho Magno, Rochelle Pangilinan, Karen Basco and so much more.
