Glaiza de Castro covers IU and BTS Suga's new single 'Eight'

By Dianara Alegre

Kapuso singer-actress Glaiza de Castro makes her quarantine period productive by unlocking new skills like cooking, baking, and even a foreign language.

In an attempt to learn something new while still confined in her home, Glaiza posted a cover of South Korean singer IU and BTS Suga's new single 'Eight.'

“I discovered some possibilities through this song. I'm a fan of both artists. Their melodies, arrangements, productions, ideas... though Iyrics need some time to understand, it was still able to communicate,” Glaiza wrote on Instagram.

“This song is particularly challenging because we all know how wide IU's vocal range is. But, I tried and I had fun doing it. Hehe. Stay inspired!” she added.

Just minutes after posting, Glaiza's cover of “Eight” already reached more than 3,600 viewers and have received a lot of positive feedbacks.

Meanwhile, according to IU herself, “Eight” is a compilation of precious memories.

"The story behind today's music video shoot is for some reason, I lost all memories--all the precious memories--so I'm like a blank slate. I'm here to get my memory downloaded," the actress-singer said on “Eight”'s behind-the-scenes video posted on her YouTube channel.

The single was released on May 6 and currently has over 32,000,000 million views. It has also dominated the international charts including Melon Charts and iTunes Top Song charts in more than 50 countries.
