Mariel Padilla switches places with her household help

In a hilarious new vlog, Mariel Padilla tried switching places with one of her household helpers, Ate Erna.

Ate Erna has worked for Mariel as a cook and helper for nine years.

The video features Mariel trying out the helper's simple lunch of fried fish, steamed vegetables, and rice.

"Masarap 'yung kanin nila ah," she says before she corrects herself.

"Masarap 'yung kanin namin ah," she says.

She also pretends to fall asleep while eating, as is the habit of Ate Erna and gets a laugh out of Joy, another one of their helpers.

Ate Erna got her chance to steal the spotlight as she pretends to berate Mariel for serving her insufficient food.

After the experience, Erna expressed how she enjoyed their switch as she got the chance to play with Mariel's daughter Isabella and relax a bit.

"Super enjoy kasi si Isabella napaka genius niya. Napaka genius niyang bata. 'Pag hindi ka marunong mag-Ingles, itutuwid ka niya," she says.

"Naka relax ako ngayon sa araw na ito dahil nakaligo ako sa swimming pool. Nanghingi pa 'ko ng buko. Maraming salamat! Thank you very much sa lahat," she adds.

Mariel also shared her thoughts, particularly how hard it is for helpers of such a big household.

"I was Erna and mahirap because number one, mainit. 'Yun ang number one na kalaban, maniit," she says referring to the helper's uniform.

"Tapos hindi pa tapos 'yung isang task, may isang task na naman na kailangan gawin so kailangan talaga mabilis ka. Kailangan gamay mo lahat," she adds.

Aside from managing her household with the aid of her helpers, Mariel also makes her own bread.

Meanwhile, her husband Robin Padilla busies himself with his newly-built makeshift greenhouse.
