How Kapuso celebrities adapted to the 'new normal' in their businesses

Business owners worldwide have mostly needed to shift most of their operations online, implement safety protocols in the workplace, and address the changing needs of the consumers. Read on to find out how Kapuso stars and their businesses have adapted to the 'new normal.'

Carla Abellana's Holy Smokes restaurant

A lot of new things have happened for Holy Smokes restaurant, which is partly owned by Carla Abellana.

They recently moved to Quezon City from its previous location in Makati, and along with its new location in Katipunan Avenue, they are also implementing a new dine-in policy: prior reservation is now highly encouraged.

In line with the government's mandate to reduce the dine-in capacity of restaurants in order to properly observe social distancing, Holy Smokes now only has 10 available seats each for their indoor and al fresco dining area.

They also prefer contact-less payment via online bank transfer or G-Cash.

Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo's Litterbucks Cat Café

Aside from enjoying the food and drinks, the highlight of a visit to the Litterbucks Cat Café is having the chance to interact with the cute and "awesome" fur babies of Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo.

Now that there's a need for social distancing, the operations in the café has definitely changed. Their cat lounge is now operating on a reservation-only policy.

Guests get to spend one hour in the cat lounge for a fee of 380 pesos, which is inclusive of two pieces mini cookies and their choice of coffee or tea.

There's an additional 100 pesos for a 30-minute extension and also another 100 pesos for the cat food.

As for safety protocols, they conduct temperature checks, have automatic alcohol dispensers, disinfecting foot baths, and their staff are wearing complete personal protective equipment (PPE).

Cashless transactions are preferred, but they also accept cash payment. They have taken disinfection up a notch with their ultraviolet (UV) sterilization device.

Jen Rosendahl's Charlie's Grind and Grill QC

'Pepito Manaloto' star Jen Rosendahl recently showed in her Mars Pa More guesting how her restaurant Charlie's Grind and Grill operates under the 'new normal.'

Aside from the usual safety protocols such as having a foot bath, hands-free alcohol dispenser, UV disinfection of paper bags for takeaways and complete PPE for kitchen staff, Jen had also allowed her loyal customers to park and dine in their parking area, since they miss dining out so much.

Park and dine is a new dine-in option which other restaurants in the country have also implemented.

Marian Rivera's Flora Vida

Ever since the quarantine period began, people have developed an obsession with dried flower arrangements.

And since the Kapuso Primetime Queen's business Flora Vida specializes in this, they decided to create DIY Flora Vida kits so people can get creative and do their own arrangements at home.

Dried flowers enthusiasts can choose from five variations of their DIY kits with prices ranging from 2,520 to 2,970 pesos.

Flora Vida has also recently released a preserved and dried bouquet collection, comprised of ten different arrangements and priced at 10,000 pesos each, and they were quickly sold out.
