Horror movies and series to watch online this Halloween season

Halloween is creeping in and one of the best ways to celebrate this season is to get a good scare.

Since the world is practicing social distancing, Halloween parties are canceled. However, people can still organize an intimate Halloween event with a small group at home. Just prepare a bunch of snacks and a list of scary films and series to watch.

To help you prepare your private Halloween party, we have gathered some of the new horror movies and series on Netflix.

#Alive

Alive is a zombie film from South Korea featuring Yoo Ah-in and Park Shin-hye. The story revolves around their struggle to survive when the world is suddenly attacked by zombies.

Rebecca

Rebecca is a mystery romance film based on the 1938 novel of the same name by Daphne du Maurier. The story is about a woman who moved into her new husband's family estate. There she finds herself living in the shadow of the ex-wife, Rebecca. Rebecca will be available on Netflix on October 21st.

Ratched

Playing the lead in this series is American Horror Story's Sarah Paulson. Ratched is a story based on Nurse Ratched, the villain of the Ken Kesey novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The series explores the nurse's earlier life and what made her turn into a ruthless villain.

The Haunting of Bly Manor

This American supernatural horror-drama is based on the 1898 horror novella The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. This is one of the most anticipated releases on Netflix's lineup for Halloween and can be streamed starting on October 9.

Hubie Halloween

Unlike the other movies in this list, Hubie Halloween is a horror-comedy. The film is about the story of Hubie Dubois from Salem town. Hubie, played by Adam Sandler, makes sure that the annual festivities will be a breeze. However, people started disappearing and Hubie will be the one to save the day.
