Catriona Gray celebrated three years since she brought home the coveted Miss Universe crown back to the Philippines by paying tribute to her journey on her social media pages today, December 17.
“Crazy to think that 3 years ago today, my dreams came true. And I'm [infinitely] proud to have represented and brought pride to my country,” she said.
She also revealed that life after her term as Miss Universe was anything but smooth sailing, saying, “The years since my reign ended (Dec. 2019) have been a rollercoaster, and I know I'm not alone in feeling like I've lost time. Time with loved ones - lost. Plans have been canceled. Dreams delayed. Collectively, we have faced adversities and challenges. But I want to encourage you.”
The beauty queen-singer stressed the importance of seeing the good in every obstacle, noting that these are all part of God's plan.
“Behind every hindrance is an opportunity. Behind every closed door is one that is set aside just for you, waiting to be opened. Behind every perceived denial is a redirection. In God's perfect time, dreams come true. Please, just never ever give up in the pursuit of your purpose,” she shared.
In 2018, Catriona bested over 90 candidates and bagged the fourth Miss Universe title of the country.
Months after her reign, she launched her career as a full-fledged singer with the release of "R.Y.F.," a reimagined version of KZ Tandingan and Kritiko's "Raise Your Flag."
