Beatrice Luigi Gomez conducts relief operation in Compostela, Cebu

By Ron Lim

Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Luigi Gomez has been spending even more of her time out of quarantine helping even more victims of Typhoon Odette, this time conducting relief operations in Compostela, Cebu.

Beatrice shared four photos on her Instagram account chronicling the relief operation, which was held on her late Lola Yaga's birth anniversary. In the caption to the post, she said she spent the day repacking 300 packs of relief goods.

This is the latest relief effort for Beatrice, who looks to have spent most of her time back from the Miss Universe pageant in Israel helping out disadvantaged communities.

Just yesterday, Beatrice posted about a relief operation held on New Year's Eve for victims of a fire in Mantuyog, Mandaue. In the Instagram post, Beatrice is seen handing out relief goods to the Muslim community of Sitio Ypil-ypil Capitol Site as well as evacuees currently in the Cebu International Convention Center.

Even while in quarantine, Beatrice was rallying people to support relief operations conducted by Save the Children and the Miss Universe Philippines Organization, which had pledged to match any donations made through the remittance app, Sendwave.

Beatrice, who is from Cebu herself, was also witness to the “ghastly” situation her mother and sister had to go through after getting trapped in their home as the typhoon battered Cebu.

Beatrice has also worked with the Simply Share Foundation and the Naval Reserve Center of Eastern Visayas to conduct a relief effort for those stranded in Cebu ports. Check it out in the gallery below.
