Kyline Alcantara is serving Y2K vibes in latest teen mag cover

By Jashley Ann Cruz

Sparkle artist Kyline Alcantara soars high above expectations as she dresses in Y2K fashion for the cover of local teen magazine Candy's June issue.

The Kapuso actress and the current honorary ambassador of the Korea Tourism Organization stirred far away from her usual neutral ensembles and dabbled in an avant-garde chic retro look for the shoot.

On her Instagram post, Kyline shares, “I've never lived to see and experience the Y2K fashion. Thank you, @candymagdotcom for making me experience it and turning me into a Winx for a day. It's Y2K fashion X Winx Club X Furby for me.”

In an interview with the teen magazine, Kyline also confesses, “I was surprised nga, I don't usually wear bright clothes. But this inspired me.” So we're guessing we'll be seeing Kyline in color more often now.

Aside from the talk of fashion and aesthetics, the supporting cover story also echoed Kyline's journey towards stardom, her beginnings, and from what standpoint she currently sees herself.

The teen magazine shared in their Instagram post, “Now close to turning 20, Kyline Alcantara (@itskylinealcantara) has gone from being an underrated child actress to one of the most bankable Gen Z stars today. Her current status as Sparkle Sweetheart was several years in the making, a proverbial crown that she had to shed blood, sweat, and tears for. But make no mistake, this teen starlet's career is just starting to take off.”

Despite grinding hard at a very young age, Kyline has had not an ounce of regret about the life she had lived before getting to where she is now. She says, “Regrets? Wala at all. I'm happy dahil with those experiences, nag-mature ako agad. Ang heavy agad ng responsibility, [and] it made me think maturely at a very young age. Until now, I'm still thankful for it.”

And even though the Sparkle artist has clearly risen to fame as she escapes the “kontrabida” roles and becomes the protagonist in dramas, Kyline remains humble and is still on a flight to reach further heights.

“Until now, I really have to prove myself. I'm content with what I have right now, but I know that I'm not finished,” the Kapuso actress shares.
