By Abbygael Hilario

Lara Quigaman went on a trip down memory lane and posted throwback photos of her Miss International days.

On Instagram, the former beauty queen and actress shared several snaps of herself back when she was competing in the Miss International 2005 pageant on Monday, September 26.

According to Lara, joining the said competition made a big change in her life.

She wrote in her caption, "17 years ago today, my life changed. And all I can say is - thank You Jesus. Through all those years, God has been so so good to me, even when I turned my back on Him, He never let me go... thank You Lord! I owe it all to You! You deserve all the Glory, Honor and Praise."

In a different post last September 20, Lara wrote a message for the reigning Binibining Pilipinas winners who will compete in their respective international pageants.

"So sad I missed your Official Send-Off Party but please know that my prayers are with all of you as you leave for your respective competitions. I know you have all been working and training so hard and am already so proud. The Filipino people are all behind you cheering you on! Keep your eyes on the crown but don't forget to lose sight of the true Giver of Crowns. And like what I tell my boys before sending them off to play or learn- Be the best, but be good, kind and loving, be like Jesus. Enjoy your journey, you will bring home a lifetime worth of memories and gain lifelong friends," she said.

Roberta Tamondong was named Binibining Pilipinas Grand International, while Gabrielle Basiano was given the title of Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental. Set to represent the country in the Miss Globe competition is Chelsea Fernandez, who won the Binibining Pilipinas Globe crown.
