Is a back-to-back win in the cards? This is what Filipino netizens are thinking as Binibining Pilipinas Globe Chelsea Fernandez is a finalist in another one of the Miss Globe pageant challenges.

In a post on the Miss Globe Facebook page, Chelsea was announced as one of the 20 finalists of the pageant's head-to-head competition. Named alongside her were the representatives from Estonia, Germany, Poland, Montenegro, Latvia, Ukraine, Albania, the United States, Ghana, Thailand, North Macedonia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Taiwan, Canada, Costa Rica, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, and Colombia.

The final winner of the head-to-head challenge will be determined by online votes, with the winner getting an advantage in the scoring to determine the next Miss Globe. On her Instagram account, Chelsea called on her fans and followers to vote for her.

Chelsea had already made it into the finals of the Miss Globe talent competition with her performance of Rihanna's song “Diamonds.” On her Instagram, Chelsea wrote that it was “a fun experience performing with an international crowd and sharing with the globe how talented Filipinos are.” The finals of the Miss Globe talent competition will be held on October 9.

If Chelsea wins this year's Miss Globe crown, it will be a back-to-back win for the country, after Maureen Montagne's win last year. Chelsea would also become the third Filipina to bring home the Miss Globe crown after Maureen and Ann Colis, who first won the crown for the country back in 2015.

In Egypt and Indonesia, two other Binibining Pilipinas winners are also competing in international pageants.

Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental Gabrielle Basiano is currently in Egypt for the Miss Intercontinental pageant and is also seeking to secure back-to-back wins for the Philippines after Cinderella “Cindy” Faye Obeñita's win in 2021.

Meanwhile, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International Roberta Tamondong is aiming to become the first Filipina to win the Miss Grand International crown. Samantha Bernardo was able to finish first runner-up a few years ago, while last year's Binibining Pilipinas Grand International, Samantha Panlilio did not make it into the top 20.
