Kapuso Action-Drama Prince Ruru Madrid is celebrating his 10th anniversary in showbiz and he could not help but express how thankful he is for a blessed year. However, despite the many years he had in the industry, he admitted that he almost gave up acting.

In an interview on Kalurks, Ruru said that he had gone through a lot of things in the past year which he determined as the worst year in his career, to the point that he almost gave up being an actor.

“Last year masasabi kong worst year sa career ko. Ang dami kong pinagdaanan, umabot dun sa point na gusto ko na lang sumuko, ayoko na mag-artista,” he said.

He added, “Noon, nung time na last year, gusto ko na lang sumuko and iniisip ko, bakit walang nangyayari sa akin, parang ang tagal?”

He then said that when he finally received the blessings he got this year, he finally realized why he had to go through the things he did in the previous year, adding that the realization finally came to him.

“I realized na kailangan ko pala siya pagdaanan para maging mas matibay ako, para mas maging matatag ako,” he said.

He added that the experiences he gained were a way for him to not take for granted the blessings he has right now.

Ruru also said that he finally felt that he made it when he saw the billboard for Lolong in front of GMA, adding that he only ever dreamed to enter the studio.

“Dati pangarap ko lang makapasok sa GMA. Tapos ngayon nakita ko yung picture ko nun (Lolong), tapos ngayon yung Running Man Philippines naman yung nakalagay dyan, parang 'wow,'” he said.

He added, “Kala ko dati suntok sa buwan lang 'to tapos ngayon natutupad na.”

The Lolong lead actor previously thanked all those who supported the series, saying that he and the other stars did not expect the love the viewers had for the series and how they welcomed it to their daily watching habits.

In a separate interview, Ruru revealed that he and his partner Bianca Umali will star in a new drama series, which will be the first time the couple will do together.
