Current Miss World Philippines Gwendolyne Fourniol received valuable advice from Miss World 2013 Megan Young.
When it comes to almost anything, there's no one better suited to give advice than someone who's done it before, so Miss World Philippines 2022 Gwendolyne Fourniol is doing the right thing by meeting up with the country's only Miss World winner, Megan Young.
In one of the more recent posts on her Instagram account, Gwendolyne uploaded a photo of her with Megan, the sole representative from the country to win the Miss World crown. In the caption to the post, Gwendolyne called the afternoon they spent together as “inspiring.” According to her, Megan brought “valuable advice and insight,” and that she was “a beautiful person inside and out” whose support in the competition was invaluable.
Aside from meeting with Megan, Gwendolyne has been spending most of her time immersed in the causes she supports, most notably her education advocacy. Just last week, she visited the site of the future Learning Hub of the ERDA Foundation, an organization she supports.
Along with members of the foundation, she visited Baseco, Tondo to conduct an ocular inspection of the 25 square meter lot that will be the location of the two-story building that will be the venue for ERDA Foundation beneficiaries who want to learn. The ERDA Foundation is an organization that “envisions a nation where all children and youth have access to quality education and holistic development in a supportive environment for them to have a better life.”
Last year, Gwendolyne spent Christmas day with beneficiaries of the foundation, even distributing distributing gifts to them.
Gwendolyne has also taught French to the beneficiaries of the foundation and even ended up an appreciation for teaching, calling it a “vocation” where she can “help individuals grow in their skills and knowledge.”
Gwendolyne also helped wrap up school supplies for the foundation back in September, describing the project as an enlightening experience.
Even the supplies she was wrapping came from her own efforts, as they came from a months-long activity that stared in July when she first began her call for donations of school supplies, books, educational resources or clothes.
