Last month, Glaiza De Castro flew to Ireland to be with her boyfriend David Rainey for the holidays and little did she know that it's the start of something very special between her and the Irish national.
Glaiza thought it's just a reunion since they hadn't seen each other for months because of the COVID-19 restrictions, but the Kapuso actress was left dumbfounded when David popped the question on Christmas Eve after two years of being in a relationship.
"Who would've thought I'd say yes in freezing cold weather....it just felt right," Glaiza shared on her Instagram account.
According to her interview with '24 Oras,' Glaiza did not expect that David would ask her hand in marriage when they had breakfast in one of his now-fiancé's favorite places in Ireland.
She recalled, "After namin kumain nang kaunti tapos lumipat kami ng area kung saan mas sheltered, mas medyo hindi ganoon kalamig, nagpatugtog siya.
"Ito 'yung song kung paano kami nagkakilala. Ito 'yung song na tinanong ko nu'ng time na nasa Siargao ako kung sino ang nagpapatugtog.
“And then finally tinanong niya na, 'Can I ask you something?' Ganyan. 'Yan na 'yung parang nag-hit sa akin na, 'Oh my gosh! Ito na 'yon!'"
Despite the uncertainties and chaos that the previous year has brought, Glaiza still ended 2020 beautifully as she gears up for the new chapter of her life.
As future Mrs. Rainey, Glaiza had some quality time with David in Ireland and got to know his loved ones better as she will be a part of his family soon.
