The former beauty queen guested the Centerstage judge's Instagram Live broadcast where the latter shared some updates regarding her health condition.

It was in February 2019 when Dayanara announced that she was diagnosed with skin cancer.

On Saturday, April 4, while speaking with Pops, she gladly shared that she is now cancer-free.

“I'm done with treatment. It took me a year and now for the next two years. I'd be doing tests every three months just to be safe,” she shared.

Meanwhile, she also bared her plans of going back to the Philippines once the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic is over.

“As soon as this is over, I definitely need to go back. I miss everybody,” she added.

She then thanked her followers for their prayers and support during her treatment period.

“Know that I appreciate all the prayers especially during this year. I know that they made so much prayer chain. So many in the Philippines are doing that for me. Thank you so much. I am happy. I am blessed.

“I couldn't be happier with the news that I'm cancer-free and from now on just know that I keep on praying for all of you out there. Once this is over I need to go back and see all my friends and have the food that I love,” she said.

Dayanara also shared the possibility of her comeback project in the country.

“I'm going to be refreshing my Tagalog so I can be ready to go,” she said.

The Miss Universe 1993 crowned India's Sushmita Sen in Manila in 1994. After her reign, Dayanara stayed in the Philippines where she began a showbiz career, appearing in films such as Hataw Na with Gary Valenciano and “Basta Kasama Kita” with ex-boyfriend Aga Muhlach.

The Puerto Rican beauty was previously married to singer Marc Anthony, with whom she has two children.
