Chesca Garcia shares why couples should spoil each other

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

For more than 17 years, Chesca Garcia and her husband Doug Kramer are the epitome of relationship goals. They share their many learnings throughout their relationship together and grow as a family.

As it turns out, one of their many secrets to a long and happy marriage is spoiling each other in the best way possible.

This is what the TV host and model shared on Instagram last Friday, January 22, as she posted a photo of herself and her husband during one of their date nights at home.

“Spoiled wife, spoiled husband, too! It works both ways,” she began on the caption.

“It's just but right for husband and wife to spend time and to continue to date each other. There is plenty of room to grow and get to know each other even more.

“It shouldn't be optional; it's obligatory--out of your love and devotion to your spouse.”

Chesca and Doug have been together as boyfriend and girlfriend for 5 years and 12 as husband and wife.

Since tying the knot back on October 9, 2008, at the Blue Leaf Events Place in McKinley Hill in Taguig City, they have since welcomed three children together, namely Kendra, Scarlett Gavin.

The basketball star revealed some of their trade secrets in keeping their relationship happy and alive.

He said, “ Work through your troubles and misunderstandings and never let a day pass when you argue and fight. 16 years together, and we have never let an argument last more than a day.

“Takedown your pride, say sorry first, and admit your own faults rather than pointing fingers. Work on what you need to do rather than trying to change your partner's attitude.

“And remember, love is more than an emotion. It's always a choice.”

Doug added, “Oh btw, husbands… date your wife.”

For their 12th anniversary last year, Doug surprised Chesca with a beautiful ring hidden inside her bowl of rice.

As shared on his Instagram TV, he said, “We've been together since 2003, so that's 17 years together and 12 years married.

Since he couldn't give his wife a nice present during her birthday in July, he wanted to make up for it by giving her something special for their anniversary.

While having lunch, Chesca then began noticing the ring on her bowl of rice and immediately assumed it was a staple wire in her meal.

After quickly analyzing it, the beautiful mom-of-three immediately noticed the ring's significance as it symbolizes their 12 years of marriage and their three children.

Chesca then exclaimed, “I love it, always and forever!”
