Alyssa Valdez supports Kiefer Ravena's decision to play in Japan

By Bong Godinez

A proud Alyssa Valdez wrote a heartfelt note to boyfriend Kiefer Ravena following the news that the 27-year-old cager has committed to play in Japan.

“Let your dreams be your wings, love,” the volleyball star begins her letter posted on Instagram.

“Good luck on your new journey! I know that this is one of your biggest dreams and I know how important this is for you! I've seen how hard you've been working for the past years not realizing that God is preparing you for something great!”

Kiefer has reportedly signed a contract with the Shiga Lakestars in the Japan B. League.

It won't be that easy though as Kiefer is still under contract with the NLEX Road Warriors in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial told the media that Kiefer's existing contract with NLEX prohibits him from joining other leagues.

If plans pushed through, though, Kiefer will join his brother Thirdy Ravena in the Japanese league.

Thirdy recently signed a multi-year deal with the San-en NeoPhoenix after an impressive debut season last year.

Legal impediments aside, Alyssa was simply happy to see Kiefer's prayers being answered.

“It is really true that the thing you've prayed for shows up when you're most ready,” wrote Alyssa.

“Indeed, everything just falls into place in God's perfect time! Congrats!! I'm so proud of you, love.”

Kiefer replied to Alyssa's post with a short but sweet, “I love you!”
