Denmark might be the smallest country in Scandinavia, but it is home to the world's tallest climbing wall, which is located at CopenHill Urban Mountain ski resort in its capital, Copenhagen.

CopenHill's climbing wall, built on the side of Amager Bakke building, is 85 meters tall and 10 meters wide. It was designed to resemble a natural mountain wall with several overhangs and routes to the top.

Although there are climbing holds or grips installed, it can be quite challenging to get to the top. Hence, only experienced and trained climbers are allowed to climb it.

Children and teens under the age of 18 may only climb multi-pitch on the climbing wall with an experienced adult of 21 years or older, and both of them must be certified.

Aside from wall climbing, there are plenty of other outdoor activities that one can do in the adventure recreation site.

They offer year-round skiing, sledding, snowboarding, hiking, tobogganing, running, bow combat and other apres-ski activities.

Copenhill opened in 2019 and it sits atop the Amager Bakke, which is known to be the cleanest waste-to-energy power plant in the world. It reportedly can supply power to an estimated 50,000 homes yearly.

The roof of its incinerator turns into a 1,400-foot ski slope in the winter.

It also has a giant chimney that releases smoke rings every time an additional 250 kilos of carbon dioxide are emitted into the atmosphere, a great way of reminding both the locals and tourists of the environmental efforts of the city.

Plus, they also have a restaurant and café in the ski resort, which could also double as an event venue.

The city of Copenhagen is also called the city of fairy tales. It is where Danish writer of famous fairytales like The Little Mermaid and Princess and the Pea, Hans Christian Anderson, used to live.

It's also popular for the Instagrammable district of Nyhavn, its Michelin Star restaurants, canals, and the Tivoli Gardens, the world's second oldest amusement park and is said to be the inspiration behind Walt Disney's Disney World.

Moreover, Denmark as a country is best known for being the home of the iconic Lego toy. It's also considered as a cycling paradise, and in 2017, was dubbed as the happiest country in the world.
