Election season is in full swing and more and more celebrities are making an appearance as candidacies are announced. The two latest celebrities to make an appearance are entertainment industry royalty Coney Reyes and Vic Sotto showed support for their son, Vico Sotto.
In a clip shared on the DZRH Facebook page, Shining Inheritance actress Coney Reyes shared that she now has “peace in her heart” and that her son “knows what he's doing” and that “God is in control.”
Coney was showing support for her son Vico Sotto, who filed his certificate of candidacy to run for his last term as mayor of Pasig City. Vico filed together with his vice mayor, Robert Jaworski.
This isn't the first time that Coney has talked about her son's political career. In an episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Coney shared that Vico had been a principled kid since the beginning, even reprimanding her for lying when he was still a child.

“Hindi ba noon, landline, magpakatotoo tayo, merong tayong mga tao na ayaw natin kausapin kaagad. My helper answered a call and I wasn't up to receiving a call at that time. Nandu'n si Vico. Sabi ko sa helper ko na wala ako,” she recalled. “'Pag hang up nung helper, Vico was about three, sabi Mama, you lied. Why did you tell her to say that you're not here. You're here. Parang gano'n. Kapag medyo masungit ako, he will reprimand me.”
Vico is just the latest celebrity to run for public office in the upcoming midterm elections. Some of the famous names that have filed Certificates of Candidacy are Monsour del Rosario, Dan Fernando, and Alfred Vargas, just to name a few.
