Shirley Kuan reveals reason for resignation as Bea Alonzo's manager

Former talent manager Shirley Kuan has broken her silence on her resignation from actress Bea Alonzo's management team, addressing rumors surrounding their professional split and denying allegations that she played a role in the cancellation of the actress' supposed wedding plans.
In an interview with select members of the Entertainment media, Shirley firmly denied claims that she had advised Alonzo to cancel her wedding, stressing that she was never involved in the matter.
"Meron akong resibo, kung gusto niyong malaman, I can prove na hindi ako kasali diyan," Shirley said.
According to Shirley, a series of incidents led to her decision to step down, with one particular event becoming the "last straw."
"The third trigger point, that was the last straw, was there was this event, that's my deal," she shared.
Shirley explained that she personally secured the event and had been coordinating with the client when she was unexpectedly informed that she was no longer welcome to attend.
"I closed this event deal, I was talking to the client and preparing this event. I was told by the client that I'm disinvited, and I already knew what happened even when the client didn't want to tell me. I already knew who it is," she said.
While she said she did not become angry over the incident, Shirley admitted feeling hurt by the situation.
"Hindi ako nagalit, but I'll be a hypocrite if I tell you I'm not offended because this was never done to me. Wala naman akong kasalanan, what have I done?" she said.
Shirley recalled telling the client that she would respect the request not to attend the event.
"I told the client, 'Don't worry, I'm not going, if that's your request.' But that's very offensive and that's not something I can accept," she said.
The former manager revealed that she informed Bea of her decision shortly afterward.
"And I told Bea, that's the last straw. After I told her that, and she said she didn't know about it. Okay, now I'm telling you. And this very moment and as of this very day, I'm no longer your manager," Shirley recounted.
She said the conversation took place on August 11, a day after she learned she had been disinvited from the event.
Shirley also expressed disappointment over what she described as continued attacks against her reputation.
"Ang sabi ko hindi ko alam kung bakit ako sinisiraan non-stop, Bea, you never defended me. Hindi mo naman ako ipinagtanggol," she said.
Even if Bea preferred not to publicly address the issue, Shirley said she wished the actress had at least clarified matters privately.
"Maski privately, you could have told whoever that is the truth, wala akong alam diyan, hindi ako nakialam ever," she said.
Shirley initially intended to keep her resignation private out of respect for a promise she made to Bea.
"I promised her I'm not going to make any announcement over any resignation. But I was given no choice but to defend myself because enough is enough," she said.
"I kept quiet, I kept my promise, until it came out. Was it yesterday? I was in the news everywhere."
The talent manager also disclosed receiving information from a fellow talent manager about an alleged effort to provoke a public conflict involving her.
"Last Friday, I got a call from a friend of mine who's also a talent manager. She said she's friends with a certain individual and, this is unbelievable, [she told my friend] 'Kaya mo bang awayin si SK?'"
Shirley said she immediately informed Bea about the incident.
"I said, 'This person called me, may gustong awayin daw ako? Why is this happening?'"
"I did tell her na tinawagan yung kaibigan ko at inuutusan [na] awayin ako."
As of writing, Bea Alonzo has yet to publicly respond to Kuan's latest statements.
