
A Hard Day, headlined by award-winning actors Dingdong Dantes and John Arcilla, earned a number of awards, including Third Best Picture and the Fernando Poe Jr. Memorial Award, during the 47th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF): Gabi ng Parangal held yesterday, December 27.
The film, helmed by multi-awarded director Lawrence Fajardo and scored by seasoned sound engineer Albert Michael Idioma, also took home the honor for Best Editing and Best Sound.
Prior to its nationwide premiere, the Kapuso Primetime King shared how honored he was to be part of the highly-anticipated film via his Instagram page.
“Isa sa mga pamasko po natin para sa mga kababayan natin ang pelikulang ito. I'm honored and proud to have worked with all the people who were behind this film. Kaisa po ang lahat ng kabahagi ng pelikulang ito sa mga naghahangad ng payapa at maligayang Pasko sa ating lahat. We hope you enjoy this film,” he wrote.
John Arcilla, in his performance for his other MMFF entry Big Night!, was praised as the Best Actor in a Supporting Role. The well-received film also scored the most awards this year, including Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Director, Gender Sensitivity Award, Best Actor in a Leading Role, and many more.
Meanwhile, Kun Maupay Man It Panahon, starring Charo Santos-Concio and Daniel Padilla, bagged recognition as Second Best Picture.
For the first time since the pandemic, the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival made a modified comeback to the big screen, premiering eight films under its lineup.
The MMFF will run until January 7, 2022 (Friday).
