Actor Carlo Aquino shared glimpses of his married life with actress Charlie Dizon during his recent appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, where he also promoted his upcoming film A Special Memory with Bela Padilla.

During the interview with host Boy Abunda, Aquino reflected on the moment he realized he was ready to settle down. According to the actor, the decision became clear when he felt more confident about the choices he was making in life.

“Siguro 'yung mga desisyon ko na papanindigan ko na. Ito 'yung gusto kong makasama ko sa buhay,” he said.

He also spoke warmly about Dizon as a partner, sharing how her personality complements his own. Carlo admitted he tends to be playful and lighthearted, a side of himself that he said became more visible because of her.

“Makulit ako eh. Nilabas ni April (Charlie) 'yung pagiging light ko eh. 'Yung sobra kong na-appreciate sa kanya, pwede ako magsabi ng kahit ano nang walang violent reaction. Tatanggapin niya at i-po-process niya 'yun,” he said.

Meanwhile, Aquino also opened up about his relationship with his daughter, Mithi, and how he approaches parenting. The actor described himself as a “silly” and expressive father who encourages his daughter to feel comfortable communicating with him.

“I'm very silly. Gusto kong komportable siya sa mga tao, gusto ko 'yung hindi siya aloof. Hindi ko alam kung papaano kapag nasa mom niya, pero kapag nasa akin, makulit ako. Sinasabi ko lahat ng gusto ko para ganoon din siya sa akin,” he shared.

He added that maintaining openness is important to him, especially as Mithi grows older.

“Lalo na kapag babae kasi, para kapag nagka-boyfriend, magka-crush, gusto ko alam ko lahat. Gusto ko, I'm a cool dad pero ano pa rin ako, strict,” Aquino said.

In the same conversation, the actor also praised Charlie for the effort she puts into building a relationship with his daughter. Carlo said the actress has been intentional about spending time with Mithi.

“Nag-re-reach out talaga siya, nilalaro niya, binibigyan niya ng time si Mithi,” he said.

Looking back on their relationship, Carlo revealed that he and Charlie dated for around seven to eight months before he decided to propose. Despite the relatively short courtship, he said he already felt certain that she was the one for him.

“Kahit maikli lang 'yung dating namin, nag-decide ako na this is my friend and this is my life partner,” he said.

Reflecting further on that decision, Carlo added that he saw in Charlie a partner who could share every part of his life.

“Ito na 'yung magiging life partner ko. Kaya ko siya maging kaibigan. Kaya ko siyang maging kaaway. Kaya ko siyang mahalin. Lahat kaya ko, kasama siya.”

Carlo and Charlie tied the knot on June 9, 2024 after confirming their relationship a year prior in 2023. Carlo shares daughter Mithi with former partner Trina Candaza.
