DepEd said members of its Executive Committee visited the school to monitor the situation and ensure that immediate assistance is provided to the school community.
“In response, DepEd promptly mobilized its mental health crisis response mechanisms,” the agency said.
The department added that it is coordinating with its concerned field office to gather more information and determine the appropriate assistance for those affected.
DepEd also said the office of Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano has extended support along with local authorities.
The agency emphasized the importance of timely mental health interventions for learners and teachers who may be experiencing psychological challenges.
“DepEd recognizes that this incident is a sensitive issue and underscores the importance of providing timely interventions for learners and teachers who may be experiencing mental health challenges,” the statement read.
