
Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista and Asia's Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose could not help but express how happy they are to see their digital film Still win The Best Original Screenplay award at the recently concluded 27th Asian TV Awards.
The awards night was held yesterday, December 1, at the Aliw Theater in Pasay, Manila, where thousands of stars from all over Asia attended.
Garlic Garcia, one of the executive producers of the film, expressed how proud they are to receive the award on behalf of Pat Valera and Mihk Vergara, the show's creators. She also delivered a special message from Pat.
“Our words, our songs and stories document, represent, reveal, our stories can also heal. Thank you so much to the Asian TV Awards, Viu Philippines, and the entire team of Still. May we continue telling our story,” he said.
Meanwhile, Maria Clara at Ibarra star Julie also expressed her thanks for the recognition their film received, admitting that she and the whole team behind the movie, “were really having a hard time to deal with our personal issues in life, including our personal battles.”
“But despite the pandemic, we still survived, we still have our voices, we still have our hopes and dreams and we are reminded that we are still here,” she said.
Christian, meanwhile, revealed the different challenges they faced while making the film, which he admitted was being in a locked-in taping. Despite this though, the singer and balladeer said that what got them through is that “all our hearts are really in it.”
“We're really in it to create a story, all our past experiences, all our hopes and dreams, like Julie said,” he said.
He added, “it's all of us, pouring our hearts into one, and we got it. So thank you so much, everybody.”
On another note, Gab Pangilinan, one of the stars of Still was awarded Best Leading Female Performer - Digital for her role in the film.
In an Instagram post, she expressed her surprise and did not even believe it when it was announced to her, adding that she didn't think that it would be possible for her to win. She mentioned how it was already an honor for her to be nominated.
“Extremely grateful, @asiantvawards. All this theater kid wanted to do was act, sing and dance. This is a rather huge bonus - at pangakong susubukan kong paghusayan pa,” she said.
Meanwhile, her co-nominee Julie, congratulated her for winning the award.
