Soap opera star Claudine Barretto pens a heartwarming tribute for her dad Miguel Barretto on Instagram.
Optimum star Claudine Barretto was emotional remembering her late dad Miguel Barretto on his supposedly 87th birthday last September 29.
The Barretto patriarch passed away on October 15, 2019. He was 82.
Claudine uploaded an Instagram Reel to commemorate the special day of her Dad Miguel and even though it has been almost five years since he died, the pain of losing him is still there.
“God I terribly miss u… i want u to know that in my next lifetime I would still choose you to be my Father. I pray I find a Man as amazing & gentle like u someday,” the actress posted.
She continued, “I luv u so so much that it hurts. i wish you can see me now & see [your] Apos. Dad, Sabina is a scholar, Saint is studying in the school that he wanted to go to before pa. Quia wants to be an Actress & Noah is my Buntot never giving me anytime for myself just as I was with you & mom.
“Noah is the Angel God sent so that if you were to leave as & u did, would go everywhere I go,won't sleep without holding my thumb. If I could turn back time I still would sleep in between mom & you till i was 15-years-old & I'm not embarrassed letting the world know that.
“Dad wait for me when it's my time ok. i can't wait to hug u. pls continue to watch over us down here I promise to keep u Proud always. I luv u,” she wrote.
Claudine's elder sister, Marjorie Barretto, also remembered their late father by posting a heartfelt letter on Instagram to mark his birthday.
Marjorie even described their father as a “great blessing” to her and her children.
She said on Instagram: “Happy Birthday in heaven. What an honor it was to be your daughter. And what a great blessing you were to my children. Thank you for showing them how it is to be loved and supported. I terribly miss you.”
Many still remember the big controversy that happened during the wake of Miguel Barretto, where many showbiz articles and gossip blog sites reported that there was an alleged physical fight that happened when Gretchen Barretto visited the wake of her father on October 16, 2019.
Based on several news accounts, former President Rodrigo Duterte, who was also there tried to reconcile Gretchen and Marjorie but failed.
