Dingdong Dantes

'The Master Cutter' star Dingdong Dantes is encouraging Filipinos to maintain a healthy work-life balance, stressing the importance of setting aside weekends for rest, family, and personal well-being.

The Master Cutter star Dingdong Dantes had a lively discussion during the media day event of Esquire Philippines on Friday, June 5.

Dingdong was chosen by the Esquire team as its “The Modern Filipino Gentleman” cover star for the magazine's June issue.

During a panel interview with select members of the press and content creators, the multi-awarded actor and host stressed the importance of taking time off on weekends, which he described as “sacred.”

“Mahalaga talaga may awareness ka sa pagbalanse ng lahat. Hindi lang puwedeng puro trabaho, hindi rin naman puwedeng wala. Kailangan may ginagawa kang mahalaga para sa sarili mo at para sa pamilya mo,” he said.

“It's always important to strike that balance. Kaya para sa akin, I really treat my weekends very sacredly. Hangga't maaari, sana wala akong ibang iniisip at walang ibang ginagawa. Medyo bihira rin masunod, pero at the very least, 'yung mga Sundays,” the Kapuso actor noted.

Despite his successful showbiz career, numerous brand endorsements, and a thriving film production company, AgostoDos Pictures, Dingdong said he still finds joy in life's simple moments.

According to him, whenever his schedule permits, he enjoys bringing his children to school and picking them up afterward.

Smiling, he shared, “And when I do not have work like taping o kaya mga pelikula na ginagawa, gusto ko rin naghahatid ako ng mga kids. Pati 'yung nagsusundo. At kung ako naman ang hindi puwede, si Marian naman ang gumagawa nun.”

Aside from maintaining a healthy balance between work and family life, Dingdong also emphasized the importance of taking care of one's health.

“We really have to take care of our health. Napakahalaga talaga ng kalusugan, lalo na sa mga nasa '40s. Ako, I'm already in my mid-40s. We always want to be strong for our loved ones. We always want to be strong so that we can be present. Mahalaga talaga na alagaan ang kalusugan,” he said.

Fans can catch Dingdong Dantes in “The Master Cutter,” airing on GMA Prime after “24 Oras.” The series is also shown on delayed telecast on GTV at 9:45 p.m.
