In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork,com, the Kapuso actor exclaimed how happy he is for the romcom film's director, Crisanto B. Aquino, because it is his directorial debut.
"Nagulat [ako], at the same time, I was really, really happy especially for Direk Crisanto B. Aquino kasi debut film niya ito.
"So kumbaga baby niya. Bilang nasama sa MMFF, mas happy ako para sa kanya."
Rocco then shared that Write About Love is special for him because it was created to pay homage to Filipino screenwriters.
"It's something na masasabi ko na 'pag tinatanong ako sa movie, 'yung explanation ko 'yung mga pelikula na naalala natin, 'yung mga linya na masasabi nating patok na patok sa puso, it's because of the scriptwriter.
"So this film pays homage to them. Pinapakita 'yung proseso. Imagine 'yung pinagdaraanan nila."
According to Rocco, he is a contender for the Best Actor title. However, he said that he is not expecting much because he is already contented to be a part of a film produced by TBA Studios, known for creating quality films.
"May nakita akong post na kasama daw ako sa category dati no'n. Nomination is a big thing already. To be part of a list of good and high caliber actors, naku, masaya na ko.
"Kung manalo, bonus 'yun. Kung maka-attend ng awards night, malaking bonus. I just want to make good quality films. 'Yun lang ang gusto."
The movie also stars Kapamilya actors Miles Ocampo, Yeng Constantino, and Joem Bascon.
