Malou was instrumental in the rescue of Matthew and helped the dog get immediate treatment for his serious burns.

In her one-on-one interview with Drew, she shared that Matthew's demeanor has completely changed since she brought him to her house.

Malou told Family Time, “When I got him home yesterday, parang nanibago pa siya, but it was just a good 15 minutes.”

She added, “This morning actually, first time I saw him wag his super short tail. He was very relaxed already and then he sported out a big smile, 'yung sobrang cute niya talagang na smile once again.”

In addition, she observed that the dog didn't have a hard time adjusting to her other 14 fur babies at home, too.

“The best thing I really like about Matthew, it was so easy for him to trust you once again after everything he's been through.”

Despite the horrible condition Matthew went through, Malou Perez, a financial adviser, said that it is inspiring to see this dog's behavior.

Humans can actually learn a thing or two from Matthew.

Malou noted, “It made me realize na sana lahat ng tao [ay] like Matthew na willing to let go of the past and start a new life again."

“Parang every time I look at Matthew, I get reminded that I have to be like this dog just move forward everyday.”
