WATCH: Jimuel wants dad Manny Pacquiao to retire

Boxing legend Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao gave a show-stopping performance yesterday during his fight with American boxer Keith Thurman.

Despite beating the odds, Jimuel Pacquiao, the eldest son of Manny, wants his father to retire from boxing.

In an interview, the 18-year-old Pacquiao said he wants his father to permanently hang his gloves and focus on other interest like his family and politics.

“For me, he can actually stop na,” he says.

“I mean he's forty, he's got nothing to prove. I mean he's already a legend.

“But I'll support him with whatever he does, whatever his choices.”

At the same time, the amateur boxer felt very inspired by watching his dad on the ring and even likening it to the legend's prime years.

“This was parang a flashback dun sa kaniyang prime years, the way he fought Thurman and the pace he was like a young Manny Pacquiao.

“Na-inspire ako and parang it's exciting na 'yung atmosphere and 'yung feeling to be sa ganitong fight.”

Manny defeated American boxer Keith Thurman via split decision, earning him the Welterweight championship title yesterday, July 21.
