So Ji Sub to fans about his marriage: 'This is one of the most important decisions in my life'
“Today, I have started a new beginning with my life partner.”
This is how So Ji Sub phrased his message to fans after news broke that he has decided to wed his girlfriend, former announcer Cho Eun Jung.
In a heartfelt message to fans, as posted by his agency 51K, the Oh My Venus actor apologized to his millions of followers for the sudden news and asked for their support in his new life as a husband.
He wrote, “Dear fans. This is So Ji Sub.
“Today, I have started a new beginning with my life partner. On April 17, 2020, my partner and I are officially married and I'd like to greet everyone as an actor and someone who has become the head of a household.
“I'm afraid that everyone must be very surprised by this sudden news. However, this is one of the most important decisions in my life that took so long to make, and so I hope that everyone will support and encourage me just as much as how you supported and believed in me for a long time.
“I'm trying to be careful because it's not a very good time to announce the news to everyone, but I will always live a life with gratitude and I will try my best to be a better actor.
“I hope everyone stays healthy and I'll see you soon. Thank you always.”
In a report made by News1, So Ji Sub's agency clarified that the actor made the decision entirely on his own and not hastily as it appears.
They said, “So Ji Sub is not young and they naturally decided on marriage after seeing each other with positive feelings. It is not a shotgun marriage.”
So Ji Sub, 42, made his entertainment debut as a jeans model and later became known for his leading roles in television such as Master's Sun and Oh My Venus which previously aired on GMA's Heart of Asia.
In May 2019, So Ji Sub had his first fan meet in Manila at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City.
