Blackpink's Jennie Kim is proving to be a force to be reckoned with. Aside from being a singer, rapper and songwriter, Jennie can now add “fashion editor for Vogue” in her curriculum vitae.

On February 19, 2021, Vogue Korea published a gallery featuring Jennie of Blackpink in 10 different looks that ranged from dainty to edgy.

While it's not unusual to see the Korean pop star's face in Vogue Korea, the biggest surprise was in the credits.

For the said gallery, Jennie did not only serve as the model, but she was also credited as a contributing editor.

This seems to be a dream-come-true for Jennie who once said in a 2018 interview that if she didn't become a K-pop idol, she'd want to be a magazine editor or a fashion designer.

In the same year, Jennie released her debut single 'Solo' and she was reportedly very hands-on when it comes to the outfits, concept and choreography. The Blackpink member put together more than 20 outfits for her 'Solo' music video.

Moreover, Jennie seems to have first developed a love for fashion when she was a little girl. In another 2018 interview for Naver TV, Jennie said she liked to look at clothes in magazines since she was a child.

Also, in a 2019 interview with Elle Indonesia, Jennie revealed that she used to raid her mom's closet for any vintage Chanel she can find. She says it was her mom who has greatly influenced her love for fashion.

Fans have nicknamed Jennie a “Human Chanel,” because the K-pop star is often seen in head-to-toe Chanel outfits even when she's off-cam or off-duty.

Big Bang member Seungri even took notice of Jennie's style and compared it to his fellow band member, rapper G-Dragon.

He said, “Whenever I see Jennie, I'm always reminded of G-Dragon hyung. Both of them are always in Paris and have a really good sense of fashion.”

Jennie reacted to this comment by saying, “It's such a big compliment.”

She adds, “There were times when I watched G-Dragon and studied his appealing characteristics.

“I hope to make the right moves in my career so that I can continue on the title as the Female G-Dragon.”

Aside from Jennie, there have been plenty of international stars who became celebrity guest editors: such as Lady Gaga for V, Victoria Beckham for Glamour, Jessica Alba for the defunct Piperlime, Michelle Obama for More, and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton for Huffington Post UK.
