Megan Young and Pia Wurtzbach referenced lines from the classic '80s movie in their social media posts.
Megan Young shared the spotlight with fellow Filipino beauty queens on the cover of Harper's Bazaar Vietnam.
Joining the Miss World 2013 titleholder during the shoot are Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza, Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong, and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
The concept of the cover reminded those who saw it of the 1980 classic Filipino film, Temptation Island, starring Azenith Briones, Jennifer Cortez, Bambi Arambulo, and Dina Bonnevie.
And why not? The story of the film revolved around four beauty queens stranded on a deserted island.
The movie was revived in 2011, with Marian Rivera, Rufa Mae Quinto, Heart Evangelista, Lovi Poe, and Solenn Heussaff playing the lead roles.
In an Instagram post, Megan did reference one of the lines in the movie, writing, “Careful, careful now. Mahirap i-achieve ang golden tan!”
She added, “Sharing the cover of Harper's Bazaar Vietnam with these beautiful and strong women.”
Pia Wurtzbach also dropped perhaps the most famous line from the movie in her own post.
“Walang tubig. Walang pagkain... 'Di magsayaw na lang tayo!” the former Miss Universe wrote.
“Me and my girls on the cover of Harper's Bazaar Vietnam. Time warp to Temptation Island…version 2021.”
Incidentally, Lovi Poe, who appeared in the remake, saw Pia's post and commented, “I love! Very Temptation Island!”
