Piers Morgan lauds Filipino health workers in UK

British journalist Peirs Morgan commended the Filipino nurses in the United Kingdom battling the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

During Good Morning Britain telecast on Tuesday, Piers gave a brief shoutout to Filipino nurses and other immigrant health workers who are doing “outstanding” job in caring for the affected people of COVID-19 in the country.

“We forget about this extraordinary workforce that comes from all around the world to help the NHS.

“Amazing number of Filipinos working on NHS, unsung heroes. Just like many. But I just want to give them a shoutout for helping everybody right now,” the TV personality said.

To acknowledge their sacrifices, he mentioned on air the names of some Filipina nurses and the hospitals they work for.

He also expressed his gratitude towards the Filipino health workers who are in the UK's front line during this difficult time.

“Thank you to all the Filipinos who are here doing all this amazing work and to every other immigrants working in the NHS currently,” Piers added.


Prior to this, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson was moved to intensive care as his coronavirus symptoms worsen.
