Bretman Rock responds to comment about misuse of face masks and tissue in his video
Hawaii-based Filipino YouTuber Bretman Rock reacts to an Instagram comment telling him that he's wasting medical supplies.
In the video Bretman was seen using face masks and tissue.
Based on the news, face masks is just one of the supplies that are lacking in hospitals worldwide.
Meanwhile, tissue rolls are being hoarded due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
According to Instagram user @priyanka.anahita, Bretman was being insensitive.
She said, "I love your content and i've been watching your videos since you were living with ur mom and your sister but this is just so insensitive.
"Not only are you waisting medical supplies that are in such high dam and, you're making a joke out of a global pandemic. i love you and usually you're funny but this is just insensitive."
Bretman clarified that what he's wearing is bodysuit for painting. He also mentioned that he's going to reuse the masks and toilet paper.
"Girl what? The only thing I wasted was the body suit for painting? Toilet paper was collected and will be used, the mask will also be reused, not to mention these types of mask are useful for preventing it..."
The YouTube sensation also added that he donated his own money to help battle COVID-19 pandemic including in the Philippines.
"I've donated my personal money to help locally and back home in the Philippines, I've worked with brands to help give some supplies to medical workers working in the forefront fighting this pandemic."
Bretman mentioned that he also used his voice to raise awareness.
"I've helped spread awareness on staying home and even [taught] people how to make home made sanitizer... what have you done? QUICKLY!!"
In his new post in the comments section, Bretman reminded his followers to stay safe and avoid hoarding medical supplies.
He also urged his followers to donate to hospitals that are in need.
"I want to make it clear to everyone: do NOT hoard medical supplies.
"If you have medical-grade supplies, please donate to your local hospitals who are in need ASAP.
"I am wearing a paint suit and non-medical grade masks in this video.
"I will re use the masks, because even if they are non-medical, it is recommended to still wear them if you must leave your home for groceries or work.
"Please be smart and safe out there everyone."
