Brian May of rockband Queen

Queen lead guitarist Brian May shared he injured his buttocks in a gardening incident.

Queen guitarist Brian May has shared that he's currently in the hospital after injuring his buttocks in an incident involving “over-enthusiastic” gardening.

He wrote on Thursday, May 7, “I managed to rip my Gluteus Maximus to shreds in a moment of over-enthusiastic gardening.

“So, suddenly I find myself in a hospital getting scanned to find out exactly how much I've actually damaged myself. Turns out I did a thorough job ---- this is a couple of days ago --- and I won't be able to walk for a while… or sleep, without a lot of assistance, because the pain is relentless.”

The post was a follow-up after a few fans noticed his absence on the social media platform.

He clarified that he doesn't have the coronavirus but was only tending to his injury.

“No --- the virus didn't get me yet --- thank God. Hope you're all keeping extra safe out there.

“So, folks… I need to go dark for a while, getting some complete rest at home. Please, please don't send me sympathy --- I just need some healing silence fo a while. I'll be back --- but I need the complete break. Ok? Thanks.

“Take care out there. Bri.”

Reality check ! For me. No - the Virus didn't get me yet - thank God. Hope you're all keeping extra-safe out there. A decision to relax controls doesn't suddenly make the danger go away. But me ?? Yes, I've been quiet. Reason ? As well as getting over-stretched and harassed by too many demands ... I managed to rip my Gluteus Maximus to shreds in a moment of over-enthusiastic gardening. So suddenly I find myself in a hospital getting scanned to find out exactly how much I've actually damaged myself. Turns out I did a thorough job - this is a couple of days ago - and I won't be able to walk for a while ... or sleep, without a lot of assistance, because the pain is relentless. So, folks ... I need to go dark for a while, getting some complete rest, at home. Please, please don't send me sympathy - I just need some healing silence for a while. I'll be back - but I need the complete break. OK ? Thanks. Take care out there. Bri

Just last month, Brian together with the rest of the band and Adam Lambert released a new version of the iconic Queen song “We Are the Champions” in support of the workers on the frontline fighting the deadly virus aptly titled, “You Are The Champions.”

All the proceeds will go towards the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization (WHO).

The band Queen together with Adam, who sings in place of the deceased frontman Freddie Mercury, was scheduled to go on a European tour but the pandemic has led the musicians to postpone the leg.
