Miss Universe 1999 first runner-up Miriam Quiambao has tested positive for COVID-19.
On January 11, her husband Ardy Roberto posted a photo of his wife holding a positive COVID-19 test.
"Positive. But not pregnant this time. COVID naman ngayon," he wrote on Instagram.
Ardy shared that their house helper was the first one to test positive for the coronavirus. "Then after [seven] days she was okay and negative after isolation and following Dr L's protocol."
He also shared that Miriam's symptoms appeared a few days after they got vaccinated. "But we assumed it was side effect of the vaccine. Then a day or two after her symptoms appeared, I had symptoms... but thought it might just be regular flu."
Ardy added, "Miriam's antigen test was negative, and then we tested a day later and she was positive na."
Aside from Miriam, other celebrities and personalities like Pia Wurtzbach, Arnold Clavio, Candy Pangilinan, Iya Villania, and Ina Raymundo have also contracted the virus during the alarming COVID-19 surge in January 2022.
