Hidilyn Diaz penned a heartfelt note from one history-maker to another.
Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz extended her congratulations to Carlos Yulo, who clinched an Olympic gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The celebrated weightlifter shared on Instagram photos of her and the champion gymnast. Hidilyn also expressed how proud she is of Carlos in the caption of her post.
“Para sa iyo Caloy, [p]roud ako sa iyo,” Hidilyn mused.
Hidilyn reminded Carlos to enjoy the success and recognition he worked hard for.
“I-enjoy mo ang bunga ng pinagpaguran mo. At lagi mong ibabalik - sa Diyos at bayan, dahil lahat ng tagumpay natin ay hindi pansarili. Salamat sa lahat ng maganda at mabuting ginagawa at gagawin mo pa para sa Diyos at bayan,” she continued.
Hidilyn concluded her message with a note that she would always be there for Carlos.
“Congratulations! Nandito lang ang Ate Haidie mo para sa iyo lagi,” she said.
Carlos made history on Saturday as he clinched gold at the artistic gymnastics men's floor exercise finals, after earning a score of 15.000 for his routine.
Carlos's win gives the Philippines its first medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics and the country's second Olympic gold, following Hidilyn's win at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
