The family of Kim Idol has released an official statement on the death of the stand-up comedian. Kim Idol passed away yesterday, July 13.
Kim Idol's bereaved family looked back at the beautiful memories they shared with him as they mourn his passing. Their words are reflected on GMA showbiz reporter Nelson Canlas's Instagram account.
Nelson quoted them, saying, “We would like to thank you all for the overwhelming love and support for Kim and his family. For all the emotional, spiritual and financial support. We can't thank you all enough. Our hearts are full of gratitude. We know that you all want to see Kim and pay your last respect to him for the last time. However, we have all known Kim to be the happy and positive person that he is. Mula sa mga makwela nyang pagpapatawa, and that feeling of positivity and happiness that he has brought to everyone that was a part of his life.”
His family also shared that Kim Idol had a specific request concerning his memorial and burial.
The statement continued, “Even before arriving as a frontliner at the Philippine Arena, he has carefully instructed us (mother and sisters), including his close friends and relatives that if ever something happens to him, as he has chosen the path to serve others that he would want to go peacefully as he would not want seeing his family and friends sad and down, as he has worked his life to keep them laughing and happy. Therefore, from the hospital this morning, Kim will directly be laid to rest as he instructed. Again, thank you for all the support and love for Kim. Please pray for the eternal repose of his soul. Kim is finally home.”
Kim Idol's friends and colleagues are holding a fundraising concert tonight, July 14 via livestream to pay tribute to his life.
