Broadway star Lea Salonga proved she is a proud fangirl after attending the Busan stop of the “Arirang” concert of global K-pop group BTS on Friday, June 12.
On her Instagram Stories, Lea Salonga shared a photo from the event and described the experience as both exhausting and unforgettable.
“Feet hurt... legs are rubbery... but boy what a day! Seeing [BTS] in Busan was worth it!” she wrote.
She also posted on her Instagram feed, where she was seen holding BTS' official light stick inside the Busan Asiad Main Stadium.
“Plenty to unpack… but here's this for now. Happy Festa!!!” she captioned.
In a previous interview on What A Life! podcast hosted by Woody Milintachinda, Lea Salonga opened up about how BTS helped her cope during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She recalled going through a difficult period in 2020, marked by isolation and personal challenges, while also supporting her child through the same experience.
“I'm watching YouTube, as most everybody does to try and get through the day… I watched the video and the minute I saw V… I'm like—and I'm done, this is it,” she said.
Lea shared that discovering BTS' hit song “Dynamite” led her to explore more of the group's music and content, which she said helped lift her emotional state during lockdown.
“It just pulled me out of this sad…state of affairs that my brain found itself in,” she said.
She also expressed admiration for the group's artistry, praising them as performers, songwriters, and musicians, as well as how they connect with their fans.
