Basketball superstar LeBron James has played it coy and cool with regards to his upcoming movie, opting not to talk nor post anything about the project despite the hype.
Well, not anymore.
James, who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association (NBA), has finally let his guard down as he promotes Space Jam: A New Legacy on his social media accounts.
The four-time MVP and champion took to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to post first-look photos as part of an exclusive Entertainment Weekly (EW) feature.

Space Jam: A New Legacy is a sequel of the 1996 film starring NBA legend and then Chicago Bulls star, Michael Jordan.
And just like Mike, James will be joined by beloved Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian, and Tweety Bird, among others.
The EW article mentioned that Warner Bros., buoyed by the success of the first movie, toyed with the idea of doing a follow-up. Jordan, however, was not keen on the idea and the project was shelved indefinitely until “a new potential star emerged.”
“Michael Jordan transcended sports,” acknowledged Space Jam: A New Legacy director Malcolm D. Lee.
“LeBron is arguably in that category. Now, there's probably no LeBron without Jordan, and I'm sure he would admit that. But he's a once-in-a-generation player. I love who LeBron is as a man, as an athlete, as an activist.”
LeBron, for his part, revealed being offered the movie years ago but declined as he wanted to focus more on his game rather than dabble into acting.
"In my younger days, part of my thinking was 'Space Jam' was so good, how can I top this?'” Lebron said in the interview.
“There's always going to be conversations about LeBron trying to do everything Michael [did]. But I've gotten older, and you know who you are. You know what you stand for.”
The movie too is not just all about basketball and Looney Tunes antics.
“We go deeper and attempt to tug at the heartstrings,” Malcolm said, stressing the emotional element of the story.
"I wanted to dive into the character, even though I was playing LeBron James,” LeBron mentioned.
The article ends with LeBron weighing in on the significance of sharing something in common with his boyhood idol outside the basketball court.
“It's something Mike created and is his,” LeBron pointed out, hoping that Michael would love the movie if he sees it.
“I held that with a lot of responsibility.”
