President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. posts message for Mothers Day

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Sunday recognized every mother’s care, love, and resilience on Mother’s Day.

“Kayo ang ilaw ng tahanan at haligi ng bawat pamilyang Pilipino. Sa inyong pag-aaruga, pagtitiis, at walang kapantay na pagmamahal, mas tumatatag ang ating tahanan, komunidad, at bayan,” Marcos said in a social media post.

(You are the light of the home and the pillars of every Filipino family. Through your care, endurance, and incomparable love, our homes, communities, and nation become stronger.)

“Ngayong Mother’s Day, taos-puso akong nagpupugay at nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng ina. Maraming salamat sa pagmamahal na araw-araw ninyong iniaalay para sa inyong pamilya at para sa ating bansa,” he added.

(This Mother’s Day, I wholeheartedly honor and express my gratitude to all mothers. Thank you for the love that you offer to your family and our country every day.

The image the President posted featured his wife, First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, his mother former first Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos and his younger sister, Irene Marcos-Araneta. Noticeably absent is his elder sister, Senator Imee Marcos.

In a separate social media post, the President also thanked his wife, First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, for “holding our family together with so much love and patience through every season of our lives.”

“I have watched you love this family for years, not out of a Mother's duty but out of a Mother's love,” the President said.

“Our boys could not have asked for a more loving mother, and I could not have asked for a better partner to walk through life with,” he added. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GM News
