Ashley Ortega isn't here to play games.

As her highly stylized photos from a recent photoshoot suggest, Ashley has embraced her playful, sophisticated, and sexy side.

The pretty and talented Legal Wives actress said that the shoot is her way of showing her fans and the Pinoy audience that she's grown into a fine, young lady, who's proud of her identity.

"The shoot is all about how I have grown as a lady," said Ashley in a message sent to GMANetwork.com. "I'm turning 23 this year and I want people to look at me in a different--more evolved--kind of way."

The photos, which were shot by photographer Jay Tablante, evoked maturity, confidence, with a bit of sensuality thrown in.

"My peg in the shoot was to make me look more mature, sophisticated, and independent. It's not that I'm suggesting I want sexier and more daring roles in the characters I play. But merely a showcase of my readiness and acceptance for more mature roles."

More than anything, the photoshoot was a clear indication that Ashley wants to be taken seriously as a bankable, reliable, and solid actress.

"This transition, I believe, is where I can manifest my talent and skill--proving to people how seriously I take my craft."

Among the actresses she admires, Ashley looks up to Kapuso stars Marian Rivera and Bea Alonzo for their talent and dedication.

"They're both very well-rounded and versatile so much so that people view them as one of the most respected actresses of their time. I truly admire their dedication for acting, not only in their innate talent but also in their growth as an artist.

"I only wish that I can follow in their footsteps and one day become an actress worthy of my colleague's and the people's praises."
