The all-new online music show Spotlight Music Sessions featured Matt Lozano as he performed his song "Liham” on Friday, July 14.
In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, the Sparkle actor shared the story of how he wrote his newest track.
“Itong 'Liham,' it's a song na 15 minutes ko siya ginawa and based talaga siya doon sa personal experience ko. Ginawa ko itong kanta na 'to to spread happiness and para ma-overcome nila yung heartbreaking experience na nararanasan nila, based from my own personal experience. So, I think itong kanta na to is very raw. Napaka-raw nung emotions, nung pagkasulat ko.”
Meanwhile, Matt also took a trip down memory lane and also shared what inspired him to venture into music.
“Simula nung nakahawak ako ng gitara nung 13 years old ako, actually gusto kong maging rockstar. Tapos nung 2012 nakabuo ako ng sarili kong banda and sa tingin ko doon nag-grow yung craft ko, dun ko minahal yung pagtugtog and nag-disband kami nung 2016. Ngayon, nandito pa rin ako tuloy-tuloy. Sobrang thankful ako with GMA Music kasi sinusuportahan nila yung mga artist na katulad ko.”
Matt Lozano plays the role of Big Bert Armstrong in Voltes V: Legacy, the live-action adaptation of the popular Japanese '70s anime.
