At this time, Kapuso comedian Mikoy Morales has definitely made his mark in the comedy scene and he credits much of his improvement to the lessons he learned from no less than the master, Michael V.

As he renewed his contract with GMA Artist Center, Mikoy took the time to look back at his education from the premier comedian that helped him endure the challenges of his chosen career.

"Andami niya na-impart sa'min wino-workshop niya nga kami minsan randomly kapag dinner, ganto gumawa ng parody na song, ganito yung format,” he said in an interview with GMANetwork.com on Friday.

Michael V. indeed became his fundamental influence and support system especially when he was just starting and doubting his place in the industry.

"Iba on a personal level, iba ang epekto sa'kin ni Kuya Bitoy. Nag-start 'yun sa Pepito Manaloto and naramdaman ko talaga yung tiwala niya sa'kin don. In a way ito kasi 'yung time na dinadalawang isip ko kung magaartista pa ko," he said.

"Nag-do-doubt na 'ko kung tama pa ba 'tong path na pinasok ko and dumalas 'yung guesting ko sa Pepito and I felt like I had the chance to prove myself there and they really gave me a shot," he added.

It was his mentor's trust that fueled him to go further. In the face of difficulty and at times hesitancy, he remained steadfast.

"For a long time 'yun lang 'yung show ko, 'yun 'yung bumuhay sa'kin kasi mararamdaman mo e na nagtiwala 'yung show sa'yo and Kuya Bitoy specifically na nagsasabe sayo na 'Kaya mo eh, marunong ka.'

"It did change where I was supposed to go," he quipped.

But perhaps the most important schooling he got from the well-rounded funny man was his ability to be a one-man team.

"Ang lessons naman lagi ni Kuya Bitoy kung may maisip ka gawin mo, kung hindi mo mapasa sa iba you have to equip yourself with skills para ikaw mismo magawa mo. Kasi ganun siya diba? Siya lang magisa kahit yung Bitoy's World siya magisa 'yung nag-e-edit ng mga sarili niyang materyal."

Apart from being a mainstay at the longest-running gag show Bubble Gang, Mikoy Morales is also part of the much-awaited upcoming Kapuso action-adventure series Lolong.
