Miss Universe Philippines announces top 5 in Photoshoot Challenge
The battle for the Miss Universe Philippines crown has now begun as the Miss Universe Philippines organization has just announced the top five for the pageant's Photoshoot challenge.
In one of the more recent posts on their Instagram account, the Miss Universe Philippines organization named Miss Agusan del Norte Jannarie Zarzoso, Miss Bulacan Princess Anne Marcos, Miss Eastern Samar Airissh Ramos, Miss Pampanga Angelique Manto, and Miss Quezon Province Lesly Sim as the top five competitors in the challenge.
The top five were determined through fan votes made through the Miss Universe Philippines app, which the organization revealed during the announcement of the challenge schedules.
Up next for the queens is the Swimsuit Challenge. Its voting is running until April 16. Finally, the queens will take part in the Runway Challenge, with the voting period running from April 17 to April 23.
Participants who do well in the challenges often perform well on the coronation night, to be held on May 13. During the 2022 pageant, eventual Miss Universe Philippines Tourism Michelle Dee placed in the Top 3 of the 2022 Swimsuit Challenge alongside eventual winner Celeste Cortesi. She also made it to the Top 3 of the Casting Video Challenge and also won six special awards - Miss Kumuniverse, Miss Creamsilk, Face of Essentials by Belo, Miss Jojo Bragais, Miss Savepoint, and Miss The Medical City.
The queens participating in this year's Miss Universe Philippines pageant will be competing for the “La Mer en Majeste" crown, which was unveiled in April last year. The crown utilizes several South Sea pearls, the country's national gem and stands as “a radiant symbol of the harmonious relationship between man and nature, capturing the very spirit of the Filipinos.”
