Fresh off from his huge win at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards, GOT7's Park Jinyoung is already preparing for his military enlistment next week.

In a report by The Korean Herald, it stated that all able-bodied men in South Korea between the ages of 18 and 28 are required to serve in the country's armed forces for about 18 to 21 months.

Jinyoung's agency, BH Entertainment released a statement about their artist's military enlistment on Monday, May 8 and pleaded with his fans to refrain from visiting the site. The K-pop idol became an official talent of BH Entertainment in 2021.

Here's the full statement from the agency:

“Actor Park Jinyoung will fulfill his duty to his country and enlist into basic military training on May 8th (Monday)

There will be no separate official event and we ask for your understanding as he will be arriving in private for the safety and in consideration of the other families and their loved ones.

We kindly ask that fans of Jinyoung refrain from visiting the site and this is a private occasion for many families.

As always, thank you very much for your support as Jinyoung fulfills his duties in the military and returns happy and in good health.”

The GOT7 member scored a trophy in the recently concluded Baeksang Arts Awards by winning the Best New Actor Award in the film category.

GOT7 debuted in 2014 and is composed of JAY B, Mark Tuan, Jackson Wang, Youngjae, Bambam, and Yugyeom. As a solo artist, Jinyoung acted in several K-drama series like Dream High 2 (2012) and The Devil Judge (2021).
