GMA reaps awards at the 1st PPS Media Awards for Television



Held in the PPS building in Quezon City, Kapuso stars and shows rose to the occasion. GMA won 10 out of the 14 awards that night.

Several GMA News and Public Affairs shows were recognized by the PPS.

Jessica: State of the Nation won the Natatanging Himay-Ulat award. The “Hikahos na Musmos” episode of Reporter’s Notebook and the “Tawid Eskwela” episode of I-Witness tied for the Natatanging Himay-Salaysay award. GMA’s “Huwag Kang Pasaway” commercial received the Natatanging Talastas-Katuturan award as well.

Kapuso shows also made a splash in the awards night. Teen-oriented show Teen Gen was given the Gintong Kolong Kolong Award. Comedy sitcom, Pepito Manaloto won both the Tanglaw ng Tahanan and Natatanging Dulang Komediya awards.



GMA News TV shows, Katipunan and Bayan Ko won multiple acting awards. Veteran actor, Pen Medina received the Hiblang Taliwas Award for his performance as Congressman Anton Rubio in Bayan Ko.

Kapuso leading men, Rocco Nacino and Sid Lucero tied for the Hiblang Huwaran Award. Rocco was awarded for his performance as Mayor Joseph Santiago in Bayan Ko, while Sid was recognized for his performance as Andres Bonifacio in Katipunan.



Katipunan received the Lingap Lahi Award as well.

Proving its unwavering excellence, GMA Network took home the Gintong Duyan Award. It is the highest award of the night that honors the best television network.

GMA Network, Inc. AVP for Corporate Affairs Ma. Teresa Pacis thanks the award-giving body and traces the achievement to the network’s thrust of responsibly delivering news and information.
 
“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa Philippine Pediatric Society. Ang Kapuso Network at lahat ng networks I’m sure, gusto natin na matulungan yung ating mga kabataan... Especially for (the) Kapuso Network, may kadugtong ‘to na pagbibigay natin ng serbisyong totoo,” she said.
