Red Velvet's Wendy is back after almost three years!

According to K-pop news website Soompi, a source from SM Entertainment confirmed that Red Velvet's Wendy is gearing up for her comeback.

While no further information has been disclosed, reports say she will release an album this 2024.

SM Entertainment said that “Wendy is preparing with the aim of releasing a new solo album.” They also added, “The release date will be revealed once it is confirmed.”

Fans are highly anticipating Wendy's comeback and expressed their excitement since this will be her first release after her debut in 2021.

Wendy made her solo debut in April 2021 with the extended play (EP) Like Water which featured five songs, the two of them being the lead singles: “Like Water” and “When This Rain Stops”.

Other songs also include “Why Can't You Love Me?”, “The Road”, and a song featuring Seulgi, “Best Friend”.

Her group, Red Velvet, also recently made a comeback and released their third album Chill Kill on November 13, 2023. It features a total of 10 songs that varies from pop, dance, to R&B.

Wendy, together with her co-members Irene and Seulgi, recently performed in the Philippines in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig last December 31. The three K-pop idols headlined the "NYE at the 5th", a special New Year's countdown by the city of Taguig.

She performed her solo “Like Water” and “Why Can't You Love Me?”, while Irene and Seulgi performed “Naughty” and “Monster”.

Wendy is also affiliated with SM Entertainment's Got The Beat together with BoA, SNSD's Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, aespa's Winter and Karina, and Red Velvet's Seulgi.

Aside from Wendy, other K-Pop groups such as TWICE, (G)I-DLE, ITZY, and SISTAR19 are also expected to make a comeback this 2024.
