Fans of the beloved anime series Avatar: The Last Airbender (ATLA) are in a celebratory mood with the release of Netflix's live-action adaptation.

In fact, the much-awaited series was already available for Pinoy fans as early as last night.

And it seems many are already dissecting each episode and have been dominating the conversation on X with hashtags “AvatarTheLastAirbender” and “Aang” and being the top-trending topic online.

The main protagonist Aang is portrayed by Filipino-Canadian Gordon Cormier.

Some of those who watched Avatar have been clamoring for season two already.

Others have been praising the incredible visuals and CGI (computer-generated imagery) of the bending style featured in the live-actions series.

Netizen rilipinoy even shared on X, “Looks like they changed the Avatar Roku Shrine scene with an Avatar Kyoshi scene, but wow, it was incredible”

“Wow. It's not perfect by any means, but it's a worthy live-action adaptation,” wrote @StefanGerards, “the visuals are stunning, the bending is beautiful, Dallas Liu as Zuko, Ian Ousley as Sokka and Kiawentiio as Katara are standouts! I'M SO HAPPY.”

Another netizen also lauded the actors included in the project saying, “Man I was so worried about this being live action, n I'll say this is way better than that goddamn awful movie . This show made me cheer, laugh and almost cried. The actors and actresses look so accurate to the characters from the cartoons.”

In the press conference for ATLA held in BGC last February 21, Gordon recalled his reaction when he finally got the call that he will portray Aang.

He said, “It was a lot of tears, a lot of crying, a lot of emotional words.”

Also included in stellar cast are Kiawentiio, Dallas Liu, and Ian Ousley.
